Dear Maharajas, Prabhus, and Matajis,

Please accept our humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada.

After a short break due to Superstorm Sandy, to our moving to another residence, and to our recent pilgrimage to Sri Mayapur Dham, we are happy now to continue our monthly sankirtana festivals. By the mercy of the devotees of the Lord, the monthly sankirtana festivals, and the daily Harinams led by Rama Raya Prabhu, may not stop, but increase more and more.

The next (14th) Monthly Sankirtana Festival (MSF) will be on Saturday, March 23, 2012 from 1:00 to 4:30 p.m. in Union Square, somewhere on the south side of the square. (If it is raining, it will be inside the Union Square subway station.) Please join us!

We hope many wonderful devotees will get together and try to help distribute Srila Prabhupada's books and participate in the kirtan.

Please feel free to let us know if you are coming or if you have any questions.

Although I am practically on the path of death, still I cannot forget about my publications. I wish that if I live or die you should take very serious care for my publications.
(Letter to Hayagriva, 10 June 1967)

Your servants,
Atmanivedana das & Subhangada dasi
Dear Friends,

We regret to inform you that our usual Saturday evening program at 26 2nd Ave. is cancelled this coming Saturday, December 15.
We are cancelling because of other events scheduled at the same time and because we, Atma and Subhie, are moving our place of residence this day. However, please don't mind my reminding you that at this time in order to run this program, we need more steady assistance (organizing, bringing things, cleaning, etc.) from some of our participants. For those who would like to volunteer to help in a steady and reliable way, please let us know, and that will help us to maintain this program as we have been, but for the long run.

Please note that the following Saturday, December 22, we have a very special guest giving class and leading kirtans, His Holiness Danavir Goswami.

Om Tat Sat.

Best wishes,
Atma & Subhie

Dear Friends,

We are having our next meeting this Saturday, December 1, at 5:30 p.m. at the storefront at 26 2nd Ave. (between 1st St. and 2nd St.). We will start our Bhagavad Gita As It Is class at verse 12 of chapter 5. Once again, fortunately, the special speaker will be our monk and our friend, Ghanashyam Prabhu.

We will begin the first kirtan on time, at 5:30. There is no charge for attending our event. Donations are welcome, but not required. Please R.S.V.P., if possible--although it's not necessary.

At our last program Ghaneshyam led the first kirtan and gave class on verses 8-11 chapter 5 of the Bhagavad Gita As It Is: "A person in the divine consciousness, although engaged in seeing, hearing, touching, smelling, eating, moving about, sleeping and breathing, always knows within himself that he actually does nothing at all. Because while speaking, evacuating, receiving, or opening or closing his eyes, he always knows that only the material senses are engaged with their objects and that he is aloof from them. One who performs his duty without attachment, surrendering the results unto the Supreme Lord, is unaffected by sinful action, as the lotus leaf is untouched by water. The yogis, abandoning attachment, act with body, mind, intelligence and even with the senses, only for the purpose of purification." Kaliya Krishna led the second kirtan. Durgarani made an amazing vegetarian feast. Amongst those who attended are: Atma, Subhie, Kirtan Ron, Venu Gopal, Kaliya Krishna, Anup, Meaghan, Regina, Avi, Max, Rama Raya, Pradyumna, Ghaneshyam, and Ananda.

Om tat sat.

Best wishes,

Atma & Subhie

But a thoughtful person engaged in devotional service can achieve the Supreme without delay." Ecstatic devotees from Czech Republic led a jolly and energetic kirtan after class. All glories to Srila Prabhupada.

The next (11th) Monthly Sankirtana Festival (MSF) will be on Saturday, September 29, 2012 from 1:00 to 4:30 p.m. It will be on the southeast corner of Union Square (or possibly on the southwest corner). (If it is raining, it will be inside the Union Square subway station.)

Please let us know if you want to participate in the next monthly sankirtan festival.

What follows is our Report on Srila Prabhupada's 10th Monthly Sankirtana Festival (MSF). The 10th MSF took place on Saturday, August 25 , 2012, from 1:00-4:30p.m. in Union Square. Over 40 devotees and friends of Krishna participated.

Videos of the 10th MSF can be seen at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h7ANvk ... dex=15&feature=plpp_video

Photos of many wonderful devotees at the 10th MSF are attached to this email. Additional Photos will follow in a second email.

Chandrashekar Maharaj, a devotee from Detroit, Govinda Prabhu (from Vrindavana), and Atmanivedana das led ecstatic kirtans. The book distributors included Candrasekhar Maharaja, Atma, Subhangada, Matthew, Ramananda, Venu Gopal, Sundarananda, Bhakta Govind, and a couple of Matajis from Boston. We distributed about 80 of Srila Prabhupada's books.

Thanks to all of you who participated and also to those who supported our preaching event from behind the scenes. Amongst the 40 or so devotees who participated are: Atma, Subhie, Chandrasekar Maharaj, Bhakta Govind, Avi, Kokila, Venu Gopal, Josiah, Matthew, Ramananda, Prabhu Kripa, Ashta Mangal and his family, Om, Rahul, Govinda, Jivatma, Nirmala, Sameer, Rama Raya, Fred, Aditi, Rachel, Nandlal Gaur, Max, Premarnava, and groups of wonderful devotees from each of Boston and Detroit.

"This, our book distribution, is the most important task in our society. Therefore I am giving so much stress and I am working so hard on this. Because this is my life and soul according to the order of my Guru Maharaja. And by his grace it is to some extent successful. And I took it seriously. I take it seriously still now. That is my life and soul. I never tried in India to construct big temples or even in your country we didn't. I never tried. But I was selling personally books. That is the history."

Srila Prabhupada, Room Conversation, Bombay, December 31, 1976.

"Print as many books as possible, this is my real pleasure. By printing these books of our Krishna Conscious philosophy in so many languages we can actually inject our movement into the masses of persons all over the world, especially there in the Western countries and we can literally turn whole nations into Krishna Conscious nations."

Srila Prabhupada, Letter to Hrdayananda, December 21, 1974.

Your servants, with gratitude,

Atmanivedana das & Subhangada dasi

atma@kirtanandgitanewyork.com
