Bhagvad Gita Class - Long Island  For these events online registration is possible.
Dear Friends,

We are having our next meeting this Saturday, May 5 at a DIFFERENT TIME: 3:00 p.m.(at the storefront at 26 2nd Ave (between 1st St. and 2nd St.)). It will be a special program in which His Holiness Candrasekhar Swami, a guest-speaker, will teach us our Bhagavad Gita class (starting with verse 24 of chapter 4).

Our program this week will be earlier than usual due to it a being a holiday for Krishna devotees.

The schedule will be as follows:

3:00 kirtan

3:30 class

5:00 kirtan

5:30 vegetarian dinner

There is no charge for attending our event. Donations are welcome, but not required at all. Please R.S.V.P., if possible.

Candrasehkar Swami is a renunciante-sannyasi and a practitioner of bhakti-yoga since 1975. He gives presentations regularly in Brooklyn and Queens, and occasionally in Manhattan, Staten Island, Long Island, Connecticut, Philadelphia, and New Jersey. He has taken part in and led missionary work for decades throughout the U.S., India, East Asia, New Zealand, and Australia. He is erudite, yet sensitive in his presentation of Krishna's divine teachings.

At our last program, we had special guest kirtan leaders: Kaliya Krishna and Rasikananda. Kaliya Krishna led the first kirtan, and Rasikananda, the second. Class was on verse 23 of chapter 4 of the Bhagavad Gita: "The work of a man who is unattached to the modes of material nature and who is fully situated in transcendentalknowledge merges entirely into transcendence." There was lots of in-depth discussion. Matthew, with the help of Goura, made a terrific feast, replete with not just veggies and rice, but chapati-bread, and lots of pakora-savories with chutney. Yummy! 18 persons attended, including: Atma, Subhie, Matthew, Durga, Goura, Katie, Alex, Kaliya Krishna, Rasikananda, Rob, Kunti, Rashmi, Hema, Vasanta, Arvind, Francine, and Ananda.

Om tat sat.

Best wishes,
Atma & Subhie
